culture, charm, wonder, excitement, and just plain fun awaits you as you explore the “Slower,
Friendlier Route” to the Black Hills. Whatever your interests are we offer it, and plenty of it.
History and culture abound along the “Northern Route.” It is a land that was once a prehistoric
seabed that resided and became home to the mighty dinosaurs and the mammals of the Ice Age.
Museums all along the route offer some of the finest collections of fossils found anywhere, and
paleontologists from around the world come to study and search for more specimens. You'll see
things here you won't see anywhere else.
